Sports Minister saves Oliseh's neck.

The decision of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF was upturned at the last minute by Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.

A reliable source said that Oliseh's termination letter had already been written when the minister stepped in and directed that the decision be suspended.

The source said that the glass house was angered by the coach's insult to Nigerians and were not at all impressed by his apology, hence the decision to relieve him of the job.

However, the sports minister felt that a coach should not be sacked for failing in one assignment.

He pleaded for more patience with Oliseh especially as he has begged to be forgiven for his offensive utterances.

Students parade teacher half-naked for raping 13 year-old girl

A class teacher at Universal Basic Education School, Buruku in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State got much more than he bargain for when he decided to engage a 13 year-old female student in a dalliance.

The teacher, a graduate of Islamic and Social Studies was said to have some time last week invited the girl to his office to collect biscuits.

When the girl honored the invitation in company of her sister, the teacher who had an ulterior motive had her dismiss the sibling.

The Public Relations Officer of Kaduna State Police Command, Zubairu Abubakar confirmed the incident.

“Our investigation reveals that the school authority on that day, gave out free biscuits to the pupils and after sharing the biscuit to his class pupils, he asked the victim to take the rest to his office.

“When the suspect returned to his office and he found out that the sibling was with her, he asked her to send them away, which she did, before giving her more biscuit and asking her to come with him to the school’s toilet.

“The suspect then asked the victim to remove her hijab but out of fear, she started crying and saying ‘Teacher! Teacher!, this is not right’ and her shout attracted her siblings who refused to go back as directed by the suspect.

“They also joined her in shouting which attracted the attention of Islamic students opposite the school, they rushed to the scene and moved towards the toilet and forced the door open and met the suspect with his trouser off and the victim shouting, holding her hijab and school uniforms.

“The students from the Islamic school descended on the teacher, bringing him out of the toilet half-naked before handing him over to the police,” he said.

The teacher who confessed to the crime however said that he did not achieve penetration before he was caught.
