Presidency cautions users of tinted vehicles in the Villa

The presidency on Tuesday announced the introduction of strict measures to check the unwholesome attitudes of some users of tinted vehicles in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Chief Security Officer, CSO to the President, Mr B Abubakar, in a circular dated 26 January, 2016 with Reference number C-in-C/CSO/LTU/558 directed that all tinted cars and other vehicles entering the Presidential Villa be thoroughly searched.

He said that the measure became necessary in the light of the revelation that most terrorist attacks on high profile individuals across the world were carried out with stolen or tinted vehicles.

In a circular titled ‘Use of tinted cars around the Presidential Villa, Abuja’ the CSO wrote ;

“It has been observed that some staff of the Presidential Villa driving tinted cars, especially security personnel are in the habit of refusing to wind down their windscreen for security checks before driving into the villa.

“It is most worrisome that some of them used the excuse of either driving official cars or driving VIPs to justify their acts.

“This act which is not in tandem with standard security drill and procedure poses serious threat to the safety and security of the Villa.

“It is important to note that the insistence of security operatives at the pilot gates to properly screen vehicles coming into the villa whether tinted or not tinted, official or unofficial is not out of place.

“Therefore, there is need for all to subject themselves and their vehicles to security checks as the case may be, so as to prevent unscrupulous elements from exploiting the situation to launch attacks on the Villa.

“More So, that most of the major attacks by terrorists groups on high profile targets around the world are being carried out using hijacked vehicles or vehicles with tinted glasses."

Abubakar directed Heads of units/departments to advise personnel under their care to always subject themselves to proper security checks.

Oliseh going. . .. going. .. ..?

Sunday Oliseh may be counting his days as coach of the Super Eagles on his fingers if feelers emanating from the Glass House are anything to go by.

Oliseh who became the national team coach only last year has been locked in a running battle of wits with perceived enemies within the football organization.

Only a few days ago, Oliseh was heard on air calling his critics insane people.

Oliseh is also believed to be suspecting some people within the football ruling body of engaging in witchcraft manipulation against him.

According to a top source at the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, “whether we like it or not, Oliseh will go at the end of the day. Keshi didn’t say as much as Oliseh has said so far. We must start to have standards in our system. If Keshi could be asked to go for saying less, what stops Oliseh from going too?”

Stressing that Oliseh was imposed on the NFF President by an influential member of the board, the source said that no indigenous coach has given the NFF as much headache as the present coach.

He recalled that Oliseh accused the NFF of neglecting the CHAN Eagles during camping in Rwanda, forcing him to spend his personal $4000 on their feeding.

Boko Haram controls no LGA in Borno - Shettima

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State has dismissed claims by a senator that Boko Haram militants control half of the local government councils in the state.

, “To me, it is unbelievable that such a statement could have emanated from Senator Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai. I can’t believe he said that because as a Senator, he has access to the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the IGP and even the Presidency and he is not the type that even speaks to the media easily. So this is why I am at a loss.

“I have not been able to get in touch with him yet to get his own side, to hear from him what he actually said. But for now, I suspect he must have been misquoted or if he wasn’t misquoted, he must have spoken based on emotional outburst and not anchored on ground realities,” he said.
