Nigerian troops on Sunday foiled a suicide bomb attack at an army base in the Northeast of the country.
A source told AFP that the suspected female suicide bomber was shot at when she defied the order of the guards to stop at the gate for security checks.

Police Recover 81 8 Cattle, Kill 3 Rustlers In Falgore Forest.

The Kano State Police Command has raided the notorious Falgore forest in Tudun Wada local government area of the state.
During the raid, 72 suspected cattle rustlers were arrested while 818 cattle were recovered.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Katsina disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday, while parading the suspects and the animals at Kwanar Dawaki in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has restated his administration's determination to make Nigeria self-sufficient in food production. He said that his government plans to achieve the capacity to export 10 million tons of grains and other processed foods annually by 2019.

American troops on Saturday began drone surveillance and intelligence gathering operations over Sambisa forest in Northeast Nigeria.
According to AFP, this marks a significant escalation in Washington's contributions to the war against Boko Haram insurgents.
Already, many militants have been sighted in Sambisa forest which is believed to be the fortress for Boko Haram.

Akpabio : EFCC To Quiz Akwa Ibom, Bank Officials Over N108.1b Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has penciled down some staff of the Akwa Ibom State government for questioning over the alleged misappropriation of N108.1b by former governor Godswill Akpabio.
Also to be questioned are officials of the banks which Akpabio allegedly used for the unlawful deals.
The anti graft agency had on Saturday grilled ex-Governor Akpabio for several hours for the second day running over his alleged misuse of government funds while in office.
