Sights of Abuja: A Hausa woman frying awara (photos)

Awara is a local snack made from soybean flour.

Very popular with pupils and adults alike, awara is eaten with onions and chili pepper.

It can also be used in place of meat in soups and other foods.

You may not find this snack in the high brow areas of Abuja. You generally find it being sold in the suburbs of the Federal Capital Territory.
